FREELANCERS ALUMNI CORPS CODE OF CONDUCT

This applies to any Corps Member, Staff Member, Board Member or other sub-organization of the Freelancers Alumni Corps of California. Any violation of this Code of Conduct may result in immediate dismissal from the organization.

1)   Be respectful of everyone within the organization and the drum corps community at all times.

2)   Hold the image and reputation of the Freelancers Alumni Drum & Bugle Corps in high standards at all times. Remember, someone is always watching. This provision includes behavior at shows, at rehearsals, and/or negative statements in any medium, i.e. the Member Forums, Google Groups or the Internet (DCP, Facebook, Twitter, etc.). Your comments there reflect not just your thoughts - they are representative of the entire corps. Any Internet related issues may result in lost posting rights to these areas, or dismissal from the organization.

3)   It is against CA State Law to have drugs or alcohol on school campuses. Since some of our practice facilities are located at/on school campuses, no Members will partake in drugs or alcohol at corps rehearsals, performances, in the parking lot, or at any other event at such location. Cigarettes are not allowed on school campus - you must leave campus to smoke (outer sidewalk is okay).

4)   Members under 21 will not drink alcoholic beverages at any time, at any Freelancer Alumni function.

5)   Use of profanity, racial slurs, sexist remarks, blatant sexual remarks or innuendos, or otherwise offensive language is not tolerated.

6)   Fighting, physical and/or verbal altercations, and/or harassment of any kind are prohibited.

7)   Handle all corps equipment with extreme care. Each member is completely responsible for all equipment issued to them, including excessive damage beyond normal wear and tear. Members will be charged if equipment is not returned to the corps and/or not repaired. Members must return any and all equipment issued to them within 30 days of their membership termination.

8)   The Freelancers Alumni are guests at schools and other facilities they use for rehearsals and on tour. Stay to assigned areas, clean up the grounds, and do not touch school or facility property without permission. It is important that everyone participates in keeping each facility orderly, and cleaner than arriving.
